NEW PAYE LEGISLATION FROM 6TH APRIL 2013
What is RTI?
Real Time Information, or RTI, is a new system that HM Revenue & Custom is introducing to improve the operation of PAYE. PAYE information will be collected more regularly and more efficiently as employers submit their regular payroll submissions, rather than with their end of year P35 Return.
This means that from 6th April 2013, employers will have to:
- send details to HMRC every time they pay an employee, at the time they pay them
- use payroll software to send this information electronically as part of their routine payroll process
